Privacy and cookies.

Who we are

This website is run by UpNrth Digital ("UpNrth", "we", "us"), a digital marketing agency based in North Yorkshire, United Kingdom. For anything to do with your personal data, email hello (at) upnrthdigital.com.

What we collect

We only collect personal information you choose to give us, for example when you send an enquiry through our contact form or email us. That usually means your name, email address, business name, website and the details of your enquiry.

Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes basic technical information (such as IP addresses) to deliver the website securely and protect it from abuse.

How we use it

  • To reply to your enquiry and talk to you about the services you're interested in.
  • To deliver services if you become a client, under our contract with you.
  • To keep our website secure and working properly.

Our lawful bases under UK GDPR are legitimate interests (replying to enquiries and running our business), contract (delivering services) and legal obligation (keeping records we're required to keep). We never sell your data.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of trusted providers to run our business, such as our website host (Cloudflare), our email providers (Resend for enquiries and MailerLite for our newsletter) and, if you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics. They only process your data on our instructions. Some providers may store data outside the UK, in which case appropriate safeguards are in place.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry details for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards, and client records for as long as required for legal and accounting purposes.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to data portability. Just email us. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Our newsletter

If you sign up to our newsletter or download one of our resources, we store your email address (and first name, if you give it) with our email provider, MailerLite, to send you our newsletter. We ask you to confirm your address before we send anything, every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to delete your details at any time. Our lawful basis is your consent.

Cookies

We use Google Analytics to understand which pages people find useful, so we can improve the site. It only runs if you click "Accept analytics" on our cookie banner. If you click "No thanks", or ignore the banner, no analytics cookies are set and nothing is sent to Google. We don't use advertising cookies, and we never sell your data.

If you accept, Google Analytics sets these cookies on your device:

  • _ga: tells visits apart, so we can count visitors rather than page views. Kept for up to 2 years.
  • _ga_SRZD2HHCDZ: remembers your current visit. Kept for up to 2 years.

We use Google Tag Manager to load Google Analytics, again only after you accept. We record events such as a successful enquiry or newsletter sign-up, but never your name, email address or message. Google processes this data on our behalf and may transfer it outside the UK under appropriate safeguards.

We also store your cookie choice in your browser (under the name "upnrth-consent") so we don't ask on every page. It's kept for 12 months, then we'll ask again. Our contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to block spam, which may use strictly necessary technical data to check you're a real person.

You can change your mind at any time using the link here or in the footer of every page.
